Moon Diet: Fasting To Lose Weight For 1 Day

In an attempt to lose weight as fast as possible, people reach for various diet types. One of them is the moon diet.

As the moon has a big impact on humans (which is not strange since the human body consists of around 60% of water), people can regulate their weight and clean their bodies of toxins by following moon phases.

What it is about? How does it work? And can you really lose weight for only 24 hours?

Let’s make it clear in the following text.

How Does Moon Diet Work?

The moon diet is an increasingly popular weight loss method that utilizes the moon’s natural rhythm to regulate eating patterns. This diet focuses on correlating food intake with different moon phases in order to maximize both physical and mental health.

This diet works by following an eating schedule that changes with each moon phase. The main part, which makes the diet popular as a method for fast weight loss, is fasting.

By fasting at a certain time when the Moon’s impact on the human body is the highest, you get rid of toxins first, and also carbohydrates, which are the main factor that influences water remaining in our body.

When Should I Start Moon Diet?

To lose weight literally overnight, it’s recommended to fast during the full moon. If your intention is not to lose the weight necessary but rather to clean your body, it’s good to fast during the new moon.

With the new moon, a new cycle begins so you’ll do your body (and mind) cleaning to be ready for a metaphorically new beginning.

New Moon Good For Fasting

This period of fasting will help to reset your internal clock and give your body a break from digesting heavier foods so that it can concentrate on its natural healing processes.

The fasting lasts exactly 24 hours. Check when the full or new moon phase starts in your region and fast to the next day at that time.

Example:

For instance, if the full moon begins on Monday at 6:43 am, that means you need to fast the whole day. Your last food intake will be dinner on Sunday if you wake up after 7 am. If you wake up early, you can eat on Monday but it must be before 6:43 am. The next food intake you’ll make will be on Tuesday after 6:43 am.

How To Do The Moon Diet?

During the full or new moon, do not eat anything. Only beverages are allowed. And of course, healthy beverages. You must drink beverages that don’t include any calories. Therefore, water is more than wanted.

Drink Water And Tea

It is recommended to drink 2-4 liters of water within 24 hours during fasting on the full or new moon. Moreover, drinking various types of tea is also beneficial. But tea must not be sweetened, not even with honey since it has calories.

What types of tea to drink?

You can’t go wrong with any natural (homemade) tea. However, you will get even more benefits on your weight loss and detoxication if you take:

  • green tea
  • sage tea
  • nettle tea
  • ginger tea
  • mint tea

These tea types can clean your body completely. Additionally, you can never go wrong with lemonade. Again, not sweetened.

Some say natural fruit juices are also allowed during the fasting day. However, they include some calories and sugars so I would not recommend them. Drink the juices only if you have the feeling that you can’t finish the fasting. But you can do it – believe in yourself!

That’s why the moon diet is beneficial not only for the body but also for the mind. By fasting, you work on your mental strength.

Can I Lose Weight By Fasting On Full Moon?

Many people are interested in trying the moon diet as a way to lose weight, and it is true that fasting during the full moon can help with weight loss. Some people lost even 3 kgs while others stay at the same weight. It depends on how much water is left in your body.

Personally, I fasted during the new moon since I want to clean myself and create my new beginning. Yes, I like dramas so I was thinking about it as – my new beginning. 😀 I knew I couldn’t lose weight so drastically since my 54 kgs have been stable for a long time already.

But I tried and the results were – the same weight. Obviously, I haven’t had much water accumulated in my body.

When there is a full moon, the moon’s gravitational pull increases your body’s energy levels, enabling you to take advantage of this surge of energy for furthering your health goals. That being said, it is important to remember that this does not mean you should expect immediate results from moon-centric diets.

That being said, take care of your food intake after fasting. You’ll be very hungry, I can imagine, but you will have no effects if you get rapacious for food after fasting. It’s important to start with a small healthy snack and try to keep healthy habits.

Incorporating physical activity such as yoga or tai chi into your routine can be helpful in burning calories and promoting overall well-being.

Furthermore, although some people may experience great results from moon dieting alone after a few months or even weeks, research has indicated that combining the moon diet with other traditional weight loss practices may produce even better results.

This could include following an exercise program that includes a trampoline or treadmill or consulting a nutritionist for advice on healthier eating habits and lifestyle changes. Actually, you don’t have to go on any specific diet but only regulate your diet with small everyday steps which lead to weight loss.

What Do You Eat On Moon Diet?

As we mentioned – nothing. Moon diet originally includes fasting during two main moon phases. However, it’s important to take care of your food intake when you’re not fasting. The new moon and full moon are just two days in a month.

Meaning, you can’t expect a visible difference in your weight if you fast one day and the rest of the month you eat unhealthy or too much.

So, what to eat according to moon phases?

At a new moon, your body’s energy levels are low and it is recommended that you take this time for rest and reflection. If you’re not fasting, you should limit your intake of food and heavy meals during this time and instead focus on lighter meals such as salads, fruits, nuts, and vegetables.

As the moon grows, it’s time to charge your batteries and be active. In that period, your body gains fat easier so take care to avoid too many sweeties, and too much fat and carbohydrates.

When there comes a full moon, your body’s energy levels will be higher than usual due to the influx of lunar energy. If you’re not fasting (if you chose the new moon instead ), during this phase, it is important to consume more nutrient-dense foods like proteins, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats.

As the moon decreases, it’s time for rest. The calories are less gained so you can enjoy your favorite desserts more often but still, do not overdo it.

Overall, it’s important to remember that following the moon diet does not necessarily have to mean fasting or restricting food intake but rather providing your body with nourishing meals according to its natural rhythms.

Doing so can help you reach your weight loss goals as well as provide mental clarity and improved overall health in the long run.

Overall, moon dieting can be an effective method for losing weight. However, it should be seen as part of a larger picture of optimizing overall health and well-being rather than simply as a quick-fix solution by fasting once a month.
